Snuffbox Mussels in Michigan

The DNR is working to restore populations of Snuffbox Mussels to Michigan waters. These imperiled mussels can improve water quality and reproduce in a fascinating way that involves perch. You can read about the propagation efforts here and watch a video about the project at Webber Dam.
