For a number of years EGLE has been working on a tool to help residents understand how much wave energy is contributing to the erosion of shoreline property. It is accessed through EGLE’s Shoreline Protection site. These links will also take you to both the instructions and the assessment directly. This new tool can even incorporate boat wake energy into the calculation. It is not required as part of the permitting system but it will be encouraged. This is a fabulous tool that is important to the shoreline permitting process and is also designed as an educational tool.
