Dr. Jennifer L. Jermalowicz-Jones has stepped off the MLSA Board of Directors. In her resignation letter she cites the “extensive growth of my company, Restorative Lake Sciences”, her volunteering to serve on two other non-profit boards, as well as her “working on a large community water resources framework” in her “spare time”. What is surprising is that Jennifer had any spare time. Since she joined the Board in 2008 as our Science Advisor, she has been perpetually dedicated to authoring numerous articles for The Michigan Riparian, sponsoring a table and speaking at the Annual Conference, and offering her insights and comments at just about every MLSA board of directors meeting. If she wasn’t at a board meeting, it was only because she was helping improve a lake and sitting in front of some township board or other officials somewhere. In 2005 Jennifer became involved with MLSA when she developed a water resources department for an environmental company. Two years later she was invited to join the board by Ed Highfield and Art Robell. In 2020 MLSA bestowed upon her the Masters Jacket. We look forward to continuing to read Jennifer’s articles and listen and learn from her at MLSA’s Annual Conference. It is not good bye Jennifer, it’s just we’ll see you in your spare time.
